Shellie Tourtillotte Certified Exercise Physiologist

About Me –

I am honored to join the Health & Wellness team at the Bangor Region YMCA! I have always enjoyed being physically active, from playing high school soccer, basketball, and softball, to running a marathon for the Leukemia Society. I love spending time outside in nature, hiking, kayaking and gardening. I advanced my knowledge of physical fitness by earning my BS in Kinesiology and Physical Education. After college, I decided to fulfill a childhood dream of becoming a fulltime firefighter/EMT-B and a fire and life safety public educator I & II. My next life adventure was simply amazing: I had the privilege of being a stay-at-home mother to our two amazing boys. During this time, I earned my M.Ed. in special education, and I worked in education for a number of years. I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to return to my true passion of expanding my knowledge in exercise physiology and teaching others about the life-changing benefits of being physically active.

My Training Philosophy –

The pathway to physical fitness and better health is an individualized adventure full of meaningful, engaging, and exciting accomplishments. By working to achieve the goals that inspire you from your current level of fitness, you will gain knowledge, confidence, strength, and health that will allow you to live every day to its fullest. I would love to support your excitement and commitment in your passion to accomplish your health and fitness goals.
