NeuroHealth is an evidence-based Bangor Region YMCA program, focused on supporting the physical, emotional, and social well-being of participants and their care partners, affected by Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, brain injury, or other neurological conditions. Care partners can participate alongside participants or separately.

Cost: Free with a Y Membership

  • Physician referral and registration are required.
  • Financial Assistance and Special Discounts are available.
  • Contact your insurance provider to see if they will cover your membership.

NeuroHealth is led by experienced exercise professionals, two days per week, 60-minutes per day, and is designed to:

• Help maintain strength, endurance, mobility, balance, flexibility, and movement confidence

• Build connections with others, who have challenges related to neurological conditions, in a welcoming, supportive environment

• Reduce fall risk, help manage comorbid conditions, support cognitive function, combat loneliness and depression, enhance accountability for exercise adherence, and improve overall quality of life

• Provide health and fitness education from knowledgeable Y staff members
