Learn How to Scuba Dive at the Bangor Region YMCA!

For ages 12 years and older
Don’t miss our Scuba Diving Open Water Referral Course! This course includes the academic and confined water training portion of the Open Water Certification course and consists of two (2) 4-hour training sessions at the Bangor Region YMCA. Upon completion of the training, the open water referral documentation has been earned.
SESSION 1: Academic Review, PADI’s Required Quick Quiz & Intro to Scuba in the Pool
SESSION 2: Pool Training Exercises
The final four open water dives with a PADI instructor which are required in order to complete the Open Water Certification, are not included. The final four dives must be completed within one year of this course.
Cost: $600 for in-person course + $251* for PADI’s eLearning Program (includes Logbook)
*Cost of PADI’s eLearning Program when purchased directly from Aqua Diving Academy (updated August 2026)
Full equipment rentals are $25 per session per person paid to Aqua Diving Academy.
Online registration is available or you can stop by the Y. Course is limited to 8 students.
