Breathing Techniques for Stress Reduction

This video includes some basics about yoga breathing, reminding us that conscious breathing is the simplest form of yoga. Breathing is a tool that can bring immediate stress reduction and help to manage and alleviate anxiety. The techniques in this video can be used at any time and can also be used to complement any yoga practice.

Sarah Hentges is an RYT-200 certified yoga instructor and an associate professor of American studies at the University of Maine at Augusta. She teaches fitness classes at the Bangor Region YMCA and Community Yoga classes on the UMA-Bangor campus and via Zoom. She has taught yoga at several Caring Connections retreats and regularly offers workshops and an annual retreat at Pumpkin Hill Farm.
