She currently serves as Chief Human Resources Officer, following a dynamic career that has included roles such as Group Exercise Coordinator, Health and Wellness Director, and Chief Operations Officer. Before joining the Y, Tammy owned a World Gym and managed a women’s fitness studio, laying the foundation for her lifelong passion for helping others achieve their health and wellness goals.

Tammy holds an associate’s degree in Small Business Management from Husson University. Her professional journey has been marked by a deep commitment to the YMCA’s mission and a love for the positive, people-centered environment it fosters. For Tammy, the joy of seeing individuals grow stronger, physically, emotionally, and socially, has been a constant source of fulfillment. She credits the Y with offering her endless opportunities to grow and evolve, stating she has “never been bored a single day.”

Raised in Hampden, Maine, Tammy grew up riding horses, playing sports, and spending time with her close-knit family. Though she’s lived in places like Florida, Louisiana, Texas, and Hawaii, she ultimately returned to Hampden, where she now resides. She is a proud mother of two grown sons and a grandmother to two grandchildren. Outside of work, she enjoys time at camp, making candles, working out, and relaxing with her family, friends, and beloved dog.

Known for her practicality and grounded wisdom, Tammy is deeply influenced by those who lead with common sense and clarity in the face of life’s complexities. She believes in personal responsibility and the power of perseverance, often quoting, “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.”

Tammy’s favorite movie is “Stealing Home”, her favorite song is “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns N’ Roses, and her go-to music is classic rock. With a ginormous family that includes 70 first cousins, Tammy’s life has always been full of connection, energy, and heart.
