SARA DAWSON
Group Fitness Manager & Certified Personal Trainer
I am an outdoor adventurer from Ireland, and I came to the USA in 2019 to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail, a 2,200 mile hike from Georgia to Maine. I met my husband on the trail and we now live here in Maine. I am an endurance athlete who specializes in long-distance trail running, cycling, and hiking.
In 2021, I cycled 5,000 miles across the USA from Maine to California! I love teaching high-energy fitness classes, including HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), and Group Cycling. I also specialize in strength training, and teach strength classes and programs, such as ‘Women on Weights’.
Before moving to the USA, I served as a Police Officer in Northern Ireland. During my career, I trained new recruits to help them pass their Physical Competency Training to enter the Police force.
I have always been a huge advocate of Group Exercise; as it boosts motivation, and promotes community and confidence when everyone works together. I also teach Evidence-based programs, such as Cardiac Rehab and Neuro Health.
My Training Philosophy
I promote and encourage healthy living, and empower others to achieve their goals by raising confidence and awareness of the benefits of exercise. Exercise should be fun and not a chore, and I design programs based on what people enjoy, as we all have our own specific needs, interests, and goals.
