Rebecca’s love for the Y began at a young age. Growing up in Southwest Virginia, the local YMCA was the place to be. Throughout high school and college, she worked in Child Watch, Summer Camp, the After School Program, taught children’s ballet, and later served as a Communications Intern. Over the years, she has worked at five different YMCAs.
After graduating from UNC Wilmington with a degree in Studio Art, Rebecca ran her own graphic design business for more than 11 years. Upon moving to Maine, she combined her passion for creative marketing with her desire to make a difference by working with local nonprofits focused on food access and youth sports accessibility. Her lifelong connection to the Y and love for community ultimately led her to the Bangor Region YMCA, where she now serves as Marketing Manager.
When she’s not at the Y, Rebecca is probably in her garden, curling at the Belfast Curling Club, or playing Bananagrams with her partner, Jed, at a coffee shop. A self-proclaimed nerd, she’s always up for trivia, can quote far too much of Psych, considers polka dots a personality trait, and has never met a cat she didn’t try to pet.
