Mike has been a dedicated part of the Bangor Region YMCA team since July 2004, bringing over 20 years of customer service experience to his role. As a Member Experience Associate, Mike is passionate about serving the community and promoting the mission of the Y. His favorite part of the job is the opportunity to positively impact every person who walks through the YMCA’s doors—young and older alike.
Originally from Dexter, Maine, Mike graduated from Dexter Regional High School and began his career at Dexter Shoe. He later worked in call centers and medical collections before finding his true calling at the Y. Applying for that position in 2004 turned out to be one of the best decisions he ever made—right alongside marrying his wife Melissa that same year. Together, they are proud parents of their son Mason, born in 2012.
Mike believes in the power of connection and is continually inspired by every individual he meets at the Y. His favorite core value is Honesty, as he believes it’s the foundation of trust, which is essential in building meaningful relationships.
Outside of work, Mike enjoys spending time at local racetracks and going camping. One of his favorite quotes perfectly captures his outlook on life: “Dreams are what make life tolerable.”
