Jay joins the YMCA with decades of experience in grant writing and fundraising, securing more than $4 million for previous non-profit employers. With an English degree from the University of Maine, Jay led the grant writing, fundraising, and marketing endeavors for Washington Hancock Community Agency (WHCA) and United Cerebral Palsy of Maine, among others.
As the Y’s Grants Director, Jay leads our crucial efforts to secure support for the Y’s mission-driven programs – from childcare and school-age care to the Teen Center for at-risk teens, swim lessons for all ages, older adult programs to combat loneliness and more, and evidence-based chronic disease prevention programs.
He is often on his mountain bike, kayak, or skis exploring the woods, waters, and peaks of his native state.
“The YMCA offers so many wonderful opportunities for our community to engage, achieve, and inspire,” says Jay. “I am thrilled to be working with Maine’s generous funders to support our wide range of essential community-centered programs.”
