My favorite people call me Mom and Grammy. My favorite quote is “Seriously”…. I use it far too often. As a Member Experience Associate, I describe my role as providing the best experience possible for all of our members. To be able to educate on our programs, acknowledge our members concerns and questions, and providing a safe and friendly environment for each person here. I have many, MANY, MANY years of customer service. Some roles I have had include working in retail, owning my own cleaning business and I am currently a dispatcher with a local Towing Company, where I work a full-time job, but am excited to work at Y to fill my spare time.
I love that the Y offers so many programs for our community. It allows me to more opportunities as well. I am excited to take advantage of some of the programs we offer, particularly, the water fitness programs. I am from Rhode Island but moved to Maine when I was 7. I have two sisters and a brother. When I was in my 20’s, I packed up my vehicle and my son, and I drove halfway across the country to Colorado. We lived there for 8 years. During that time, I put myself through school and received my associate’s in business administration. I ended up on the Dean’s List and the President’s list. I moved back to Maine in 2015. I then married my brother’s best friend, who I have known now for 30 years. We got married in Salem, Mass on Halloween in 2022. We go there every Halloween to celebrate. Halloween is also our favorite holiday. I’m the proud mom of three dogs and three cats:-)
I am most impacted and inspired by many people from many different walks of life. I love a good comeback story and may have been known to cry a few happy tears when I see people succeed. I believe that all of the Y’s core values resonate a little, but I think responsibility is extremely important. We must be responsible and accountable for all of our choices, good or bad. I think it gives us opportunities to learn. When I am not working, I love to craft. My basement is my crafting area and is full of supplies from fabric to paper to sewing machines to Cricuts and saw tables. I love trying to make anything I can. My most recent project is curtains for my living room. Something you may not know about me is that I have an extremely weird obsession with pens. Any color, size, shape, style, it doesn’t matter. But, unlike most, if I borrow your pen, you are sure to get it back.
