Certified Personal Trainer
I grew up on Cape Cod spending most of my summers swimming in the ponds and ocean. My interest in fitness began in high school while doing club swimming. My coach encouraged me to use the gym in addition to swim practice. I found exercise to be essential to my emotional and mental health alongside my physical well-being.
I began using the school’s gym regularly in addition to swimming for my school’s team. In 2022, I moved to Salem, Massachusetts, and became a member of the YMCA there. The gym and pool became a staple of my schedule, and the staff there always excelled at making me feel welcome. They inspired me to help others in the same way, and I knew I wanted a career that would keep me active and encourage healthy habits.
Soon after joining, I started my personal trainer certification course through ISSA. I began working at the Bangor YMCA in March of 2023 as a lifeguard and a personal trainer shortly after in May. Making community connections and seeing a positive impact in the lives of those I work with brings me immense joy and satisfaction. I hope to continue my education in fitness and health, and provide assistance to others pursuing their life fitness goals.
