Born and raised in North Carolina, I have lived in Maine for just over 26 years. I consider myself a Mainer but I still speak fluent “southerner” … Yeehaw! My wife, Jennifer, and I have been married for 28 years and have two adult children. When not at my day job or at the Y, I spend many hours volunteering with Destination Imagination as the state director.


I am an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and Weight Management Specialist. I have taught TRX and Jump’N at the Bangor Region YMCA as well as Biggest Mover, Obstacle Course Racing, and Y Wait…It’s Goal Time! I experienced my own healthy transformation five years ago with major weight loss.


Since then, I have made it my mission to work with individuals or groups looking to lose and manage their weight and start on a path to a healthier lifestyle. I have a great passion to help others gain confidence in belonging to the gym and to feel comfortable being there and feeling like they belong there.


As for types of workouts, I like to make the workouts high energy, motivating, and FUN! I do a lot with HIIT, TOBOTA, boxing, and all-around functional exercises. I am always mixing it up to keep the muscles guessing. I like to design exercises to mimic what you would do in your everyday life. This is how we make our entire body strong and ready for whatever the day may bring.
