Dear Parents, Grandparents and Guardians,
The Bangor Region YMCA has been working with superintendents and principals in the region to ensure our children and families are well served once school begins and our kids will be safe. The Y has been an Emergency Childcare Center since March 15th when schools closed. We had more than 100 children daily of healthcare workers, first responders and essential businesses. Strict CDC Policies and Procedures were put into place immediately and we kept our children safe, happy, challenged and inspired. We also have opened up both of our camps this summer because we knew we could follow the practices we had implemented in our Emergency Childcare Program to keep our campers safe. Thus far, since March, we have not had one case of COVID-19. Again, our staff is well-trained and we are following CDC and State guidelines.
WE ARE PREPARED AND READY FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR TO SERVE YOU.
We are working with all school districts to support the families in their districts. We will be offering All-Day Educational Support/Activities/Care for those children who will not be physically in their school if their school chooses to go to a 50% plan in which they alternate days and only half of the children are in the school at a time. We will be there for those who need us for the other 50%. For those who do go back 100%, we will be there with our After School Program, as well as for those who are in school on their designated days. We are offering this in ALL school districts.
WE NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU!
In order to serve you to the best of our ability, we need to hear from you and let us know if you are interested and needing our support. Please complete the online form below by Thursday, August 13th. We are already booking spots and we don’t want to turn any child away due to not having the space or staff, so we must have this information to plan accordingly.
Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter. We are here for you and we will get through this together!
